Refund policy
The 5-year canopy warranty
We warrant the Sunglass canopy for five years from the date of delivery against:
- UV degradation, fading, or yellowing of the tint
- Loss of transparency or clarity
- Seam failure or delamination
- Cracking or embrittlement under normal outdoor use
If the canopy fails in any of those ways within five years, we will repair or replace it at our discretion, at no charge to you. We cover return shipping on warranty claims.
The frame is covered by its manufacturer's terms. We will help you make a frame claim, but the frame warranty is not ours to give.
What isn't covered: damage from wind or weather beyond the rated 50 km/h (31 mph), including leaving the umbrella open in a storm; damage from an undersized or missing base; impact, tearing, or vandalism; solvents, pressure washing, or abrasive cleaning; alteration or repair by anyone other than us; and normal cosmetic wear such as light surface scuffing that doesn't affect performance.
How to claim: email Thomas@SunglassOutdoor.com with your order number and photographs of the issue. Most claims are resolved within a few business days.
The warranty runs with the umbrella, not the buyer — if you sell the property or hand the umbrella on, the remaining coverage transfers with it. Keep your order confirmation.
This is a limited warranty. It gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary by state.
Returns
Every Sunglass umbrella is welded to order, so we ask that you're reasonably sure before you buy. That said:
30-day return, shipping on us. If the umbrella isn't right for your space, contact us within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. It needs to come back in resaleable condition — set up and used is fine, damaged or heavily soiled is not. We cover return shipping both ways — we'll email you a prepaid label. We refund the purchase price in full within five business days of receiving it.
Damaged in transit. Photograph it before you do anything else and email us within 7 days. We'll replace it and handle the carrier claim ourselves. You pay nothing.
Wrong or missing item. Tell us and we'll fix it at our cost, however it happened.
Trade and wholesale orders of five units or more are covered by the warranty on the same terms, but bulk orders are non-returnable once production has started. Sample units are returnable for 30 days on the terms above. If you're ordering a run, order a sample first — that's exactly what it's for.
Cancellations. Cancel any time before production starts for a full refund. Once your canopies are in production, we can't cancel, but the 30-day return still applies on delivery.
